Boundary Country

Step outta line.

Sunny, with a chance of imagination: step into Boundary Country. This region, located near the Okanagan, is renowned for its solace, soft adventure, and Borscht. Story & Co. plunged into its rich history and top-notch communities and surfaced with a resonant, authentic set of regional communication tools and guidelines, as well as a regional economic communications strategy. We developed brand usage guidelines, a brand (new) logo, a tip-top travel website, maps, brochures, swag, trade show materials, and more. Thinkin' bout steppin' outta line? Then step into Boundary Country…

Story & Co.’s campaign for the Boundary Country won awards from the Economic Development Association of Canada (EDAC) for Best Brand Identity & Application and Best Tourism Website Design & Development.

"We got single track and straight lines; side roads and main lines; tight trails and ridge lines; uptracks and fall lines; blind corners and sight lines; berms, curves, highway pavement and some of the softest, feel-good, flowy, sweet-smelling earth this side of the farm fence. Ain’t no bullshit neither. In Boundary Country, there’s adventure unlimited, it’s simply up to you where you choose to draw the line."

“Hitch up yer get along, saddle up pretty, head for the hills and get outta the city. We got pies, we got rides, we got cowboys who reckon they’ll win a belt buckle if they ride for eight seconds. There’s vegetables, fruits and all kinds of folks, and maybe some nuts and some calves and some ropes. It’s gonna be fine, and it’s gonna be fun, so bring all the kids you old son-of-a-gun. There’s folks from the country, city and towns, and they know how to dance ‘til long past sun down. There ain’t no excuses, so we’ll see y’all there, at the 23rd annual Rock Creek Fall Fair.”

“This is for people, and the power of peace, where the best of the west meets the good of the east; where the rivers run cool in the warm summer heat and connections connect on the side of the street.
This is for produce and the pros who produce; this is for freedom and the fancy footloose.
This is for dancing and hiking and swimming, and this is for homers at the end of the inning.
This is for pies and potato sack races; for riding on horseback in wide open spaces.
This is for nonsense and this is for keeps; for crossing the line and for friends that are deep.
This is for earth and this is for sky and this is for looking at folks in the eye.
This is for toil and good honest labour and this is for stories too good not to savour.
This is for children and old folks gone young and this is for big kids who cherish their fun.
This is for working and this is for playing and for sweet summer nights with the fresh scents of haying.
This is for crisp dawns and coffee shop tales and for farmers in darkness with milk in their pails.
This is for smiling and waving and talking, and this is for taking a deep breath and walking.
This is for now, and for all other times, and most of all this is for those outta line."
